Maybe the Winter Olympics would have been better off in Texas this year.

Olympic Fun

Although we disagree with some aspects of the Olympics, we have definitely caught the Olympic fever! We went downtown on the day of the Opening Ceremonies and had fun looking at artwork in the streets, listening to live bands, seeing the outdoor skating rink and zip line in the middle of the city (which we would have done except for the 5 hour line up!), and of course we did lots of people watching. It's neat to see people from all over the world. (Although our city is so multicultural it was hard to tell who is visiting and who actually lives here... I love that about Vancouver!)

Oldies

We just received these pictures that a friend took back in December.

I realized that we really don't have too many of the three of us together.

Patty Cake

Kyle often forgets lines to nursery rhymes so makes up his own words. I heard him singing Patty Cake to which I was surprised to hear him remember most of the words. But toward the end it turned into "...bake me a cake as fast as you can. Roll it, spin it, put it in a tin, and give it to you!" Which was fairly close, but then I chimed in with the more well known version, "Roll it, pat it, mark it with an E, and throw it in the oven for Esme and me!"

Kyle thought about it a minute and then said, "Nursery rhymes are so strange, why would you 'mark it with a knee?' That doesn't even make any sense!"

Not too swift with the nursery rhymes I guess.

The Scholar

Esmé spent the afternoon doing some light reading.

Then she decided to try her hand at crawling but was unsuccessful. She just can't seem to get those arms going!
